A Playthrough of a Certain Dude’s VRMMO Lifeis based on a series of light novels written byHowahowa Shiinaand illustrated byYamada, which began in 2014 and has 27 volumes as of February 2023. The novel, inspired by the now-defunct browser game One More Free Life Online, is currently serialized on the website ofAlphapolis.

Synopsis of A Playthrough of a Certain Dude’s VRMMO Life
Ha new type of VRMMO called “One More Free Life Online” has been released. The protagonist connects as a young boy avatar named “Earth”. Taichi Tanaka (38 years old, single) has a normal office job and enjoys playing video games in his free time.
In a world where the player is free to do whatever they want, he decides to master a skill that is considered useless. He makes potions that are too complicated to make, cooks food that is excessively good, and uses strange and original weapons to hunt monsters… A story of adventure about an ordinary middle-aged man who leisurely enjoys his VRMMO sandbox game.
