The "Halloween Night" Arc Has Arrived: An Impending Climax
The highly anticipated second season of "Call of the Night" (Yofukashi no Uta) is set to reach a new peak of excitement with the introduction of the "Halloween Night" arc. Starting with episode 9, which aired on August 29, this new stage promises to intensify the battle between vampires and detectives, with a focus on the relationship between Nazuna and Anko.
The release of the new key visual reveals a striking image: Nazuna smiles defiantly at Kou, who is dressed as a vampire, while Anko points a weapon at both of them. The presence of Kikyo Seri and her familiar, Akkun (Akito Akiyama), adds even more intrigue to the scene, foreshadowing a tense and mysterious confrontation.
A Visually Stunning Preview: The "Halloween Night" Trailer
The recently released trailer on YouTube offers a glimpse of what's to come. The atmosphere is built with ominous music as Nazuna and Anko meet, interrupted by Kou's voice exclaiming, “The day the detective's family was destroyed.” The strategic use of the date "October 31" sets the stage for a night full of events.
Anko's line, “I've come to end the night,” along with never-before-seen scenes—including a battle between Nazuna and Anko, Kou running through a town decorated for Halloween, and serious expressions on the vampires' faces—culminates in a poignant image of tears on Nazuna's face. The closing theme, "Sleep" (Nemure), performed by Creepy Nuts, adds another layer of emotion to this preview.
New Cast Members and Musical Continuity
The second season also features new cast additions, including Rina Sato as Kiku Hoshimi, Maaya Uchida as Haru Nanakusa, and Tomokazu Sugita as LG.
Despite these additions, Creepy Nuts remains the musical heart of the anime, performing both the opening song "Mirage" (Mirai) and the new closing theme "Sleep" (Nemure). This musical continuity, which builds on their original song "Yofukashi no Uta," has captivated fans since the first season.
