Our Rainy Protocol is an anime that comes from a peculiar theme. At some point in your life, you’ve heard the phrase esports or e-Sports in English. But if you're not familiar with the term of electronic sports, well, basically they are video games played in a highly structured competitive atmosphere.
Esports have existed for years, and Japan has decided it’s ready to give the world an original esports anime that unites both players and anime fans.
This esports-themed anime featuring character designs from Oshi no Ko and Kanna Hirayama of Rent-A-Girlfriend, which will begin airing in Japan this October 2023. With this news, a trailer and key visual have been revealed.

About the synopsis of Our Rainy Protocol
The story of Shun Tokinoya, a second-year high school student who lives with his mother and younger sister. Devastated by the tragic death of his father and his sister’s injury, Shun abandoned his beloved game and found employment at an esports café called "FOX ONE." Amidst relentless studying and part-time work, he appreciates the company of his childhood gaming companions.
Unexpectedly, Shun discovers that "FOX ONE" has overwhelming debt. To resolve this financial crisis, Shun and his friends embark on a mission to conquer the renowned “Xaxerion Championship” and claim the coveted cash prize. Struggling with a deep sense of regret, Shun re-enters the virtual realm of online games, only to face his former gaming comrade, Bakuretsu-kun.
With such a solid voice cast and production staff, who have worked on some of the biggest animes, plus its engaging story, Our Rainy Protocol seems incredibly promising, and we hope the anime adaptation reflects the excitement and enthusiasm of esports.
