The story takes place in the Kingdom of Kouka, where Yona, the only princess of the kingdom, has always obtained what she wanted, leading a luxurious and carefree life. However, on the day she turns 16, everything changes completely, taking a 360° turn; she is betrayed by the person she trusts and loves most, her beloved cousin Soo-won, who murders her father to seize the throne. She has no choice but to flee the castle to Hak's hometown and begins a new life traveling in search of the four dragon warriors.
Characters of "Akatsuki no Yona"
Yona (main character of Akatsuki no Yona)
She is the only princess of the Kingdom of Kouka and daughter of King Il, and she is the reincarnation of King Hiryuu. She is kind and has a sweet and innocent behavior, adapts to strangers and is willing to learn new things. She is underestimated by those around her due to the lifestyle she was used to, however, as they go through any difficulty, she shows great courage and intuition.
During her long journey, Yona begins the search for the four dragon warriors, with whom they gradually establish a beautiful friendship and discovers her purpose in life.

Hak
He is an attractive man, tall and muscular. He is the former general of the Wind Tribe and bodyguard of Yona, they call him "the beast of thunder" of Kouka. He was recognized for his unparalleled strength in the Hiryuu Castle from a very young age.
Hak is a somewhat serious, honest, and kind person; he is extremely loyal to the former emperor and Yona, even to the point of sacrificing his life for her. He tends to be a little joking, especially with Yona and Kija.

Soo-Won
He is the current king of the Kingdom of Kouka. He is Yona's cousin. He was the one who murdered King Il as an act of revenge, and thus ascended to the throne of the kingdom. On the surface, Soo-Won is kind and gentle with people, with a calm attitude. He is mature but there are moments when he acts childishly.
Since he was little, he has been very sociable, capable of approaching anyone regardless of their appearance. Thanks to this, he is able to establish connections with several people.

Yoon
He was the guardian of the high priest, Ik-Soo. He helps Yona and Hak after falling off a cliff, subsequently accompanies them in their search for the four dragon warriors. He is a proud and carefree person. He calls himself "handsome guy", demonstrating his vain personality, he is also educated and kind.

Kija
One of the dragon warriors, the current Hakuryuu (white dragon). He was the first of the dragons to ally with Yona and Hak to accompany them on their journey. Kija is very stubborn, simple and educated, but for the way he was raised. As he always knew about the legend of the dragon deities and his place within it. He firmly believes that the dragon deities should fulfill their duties regardless. Because of this, he tends to be quite annoying.
His power resides in his right hand and allows him to enlarge his hand at will, achieving the end of everything in its path.

Shin-Ah
One of the four Dragon Warriors and is the current Seiryuu (Blue Dragon). He is the second dragon to ally with Yona and Hak to accompany them on their journey. Because he grew up completely isolated from people, Shin-Ah does not possess social skills, he is someone extremely quiet and poorly communicative with others. He is kind to those around him, especially with Yona since she was the one who took him out of his cave.
The power of this dragon resides in his eyes and he is capable of seeing long distances. He also possesses an ability to paralyze people when looking directly into their eyes. His victims are then subject to fatal hallucinations.

Jae-Ha
He is one of the four dragon warriors and the current Ryokuryuu (green dragon). Previously, he was a member of Gi-Gan's pirate crew. He is the third dragon to join the group of Yona and Hak. He is an observant man, confident, persistent, narcissistic, and sometimes masochistic. He values freedom above all else.
He possesses the power of the dragon in his right leg and this allows him to jump long distances that makes it seem like he can fly. It also makes his leg incredibly strong and lethal when he uses it to kick.

Zeno
One of the dragon warriors and is the Ouryuu original (yellow dragon). He was the last of the group to ally with Yona, does not consider her as his "master" like the other dragons. He served King Hiryuu alongside the Original Dragons. Despite his biological age, Zeno is very cheerful, carefree, friendly, and doesn't mind giving his trust to others even if those people may not deserve it. Due to his careless attitude and his little resistance, everyone doubted that he was the yellow dragon.
His ability as a dragon is immortality, an incredible ability to "regenerate" or "unite" his body.

Opinion on "Akatsuki no Yona"
"Akatsuki no Yona" is one of the stories of "romance" that I have loved for a long time, it shows a beautiful story at the beginning to then transform it into a cold story. It shows the drastic changes in the life of the main character and all the tests he has to go through to reach a maturity that drives you crazy when compared to the first chapter, maturity vs spoiled girl.
As for the visualization it is like any other manga, the male characters are all handsome, although one always ends up shipping Yona and Hak. This story is quite long so there is plenty to entertain yourself with, they also released their animation but it is a little incomplete, it is hoped that someday they will make some more seasons to conclude it better in my perception. If you want a romance story that is not so traditional and has a story that grabs you, this manga is for you.
