Characters of The Change of Seasons

Seo Kyu-Yeon (Main protagonist of The Change of Seasons)

She is a girl who likes to see the subtle changes of the seasons. She finds it difficult to fall in love because her family is dysfunctional. She ends up getting engaged to Lee Ji-hyuk to pay off her father's debts; however, he betrays her with her friend, which hurts and enrages her. She doesn't understand Jung Yoo Gun at all; sometimes he helps her but other times makes her feel powerless. She ends up feeling frustrated and scared by the constant harassment of her ex-boyfriend and her former mother-in-law, so she ends up being taken in by her boss. Because of all these intertwined feelings and the time they spend together, she begins to feel a great sexual attraction as they spend time together.

Jung Yoo Gun

He is a programmer at SJ Telecom Onestop and head of the AI business team. He graduated with honors being a member of MENSA and attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is considered an ogre boss. Despite his numerous achievements, he has difficulty socializing and expressing emotions due to a frontal lobe injury he suffered as a child while in the care of his mother. He has many wet dreams since seeing his sister's friend (our protagonist) in the bathroom; he considers it a mental problem. He makes our protagonist’s life a living hell and devised everything so that our protagonist would not get married, make her feel down, just to have her at his mercy and do all the delicious things he wants.

Jung Yoo Gun

Kim Hee-Yeon

She is a friend of the protagonist; they met in college, but she betrays her and sleeps with the protagonist’s fiancé. She starts working with her in the office and spends a long time in Jung Yoo Gun's office, which spreads rumors about a possible relationship at work.

Kim

Lee Ji-Hyuk

He is the ex-boyfriend of the protagonist; he claims that Kim Hee-Yeon seduced him and tries by all means to continue with the marriage, blaming the protagonist for seeking refuge in another woman because she works too much. He ends up harassing her with text messages, calling and visiting almost every night at her house. He resorts to his mother, who ends up attacking our protagonist. It is believed that he is one of those who filters confidential information from the company where he works.

Lee

Yoo Jin-yi

She is a high school friend of the protagonist and half-sister of Jung Yoo Gun. Her behavior and appearance are totally different from her brother. She ends up being a great emotional support for the protagonist, despite being the one who gets angry about everything that happens to her.

Opinion of The Change of Seasons

The Change of Seasons is a series that is striking for its explicit content (for those who want to warm up a bit) as well as for its drawings, setting and coloring; they are a great work and I have to admit that visually I loved it.

However, it is far from being a series that I like. Here we are shown a twisted way of what love could be, and I understand that there is no perfect man, but I do not support the sickly clinginess that the male character has in making the protagonist miserable so that she ends up taking refuge in him.
