To the delight of fans, during the eventAniplex Online Fest 2023a new promotional trailer for the anime adaptation of the webtoon created byChugong,Solo Leveling, in the announcement also revealed a key image and the release date forJanuary 2024.
The animeSolo Levelingis based on the web novel byChugong, which began serialization in2016and ended in2018after270 chapters. It has been divided into14 volumes.Webnovelauthorized it in English with the titleOnly I Level Up.
The webtoon adaptation of the web novel with art bySung-rak Jang(also known as DUBU) fromRedice Studioended inDecember 2021.H-goonhelped in the adaptation of the work, which began onKakaoPagein Korea and has two seasons. Synopsis of Solo Leveling
Ten years ago, “The Gate” appeared and connected the real world with the realm of magic and monsters. To combat these vile beasts, ordinary people received superhuman powers and became known as «Hunters». Sung Jin-Woo, twenty years old, is one of those hunters, but he is known as the «weakest in the world», due to his pathetic power even compared to a miserable E rank. Still, he relentlessly hunts monsters in low-ranking Gates to pay for his mother’s medical bills.
However, this miserable lifestyle changes when Jin-Woo, believing he is the only one who dies in a mission that went horribly wrong, wakes up in a hospital three days later and finds a mysterious screen floating in front of him. This «Quest Log» demands that Jin-Woo complete an intense and unrealistic training program or face an appropriate penalty. Initially reluctant to comply due to the rigor of the quest, Jin-Woo soon discovers that he can transform into one of the most formidable hunters in the world.
