Synopsis of Sousou no Frieren

The Demon King has been defeated, and the victorious group of heroes have returned to their respective homes after disbanding. The four (the mage Frieren, the hero Himmel, the priest Heiter, and the warrior Eisen) remember their decade-long journey when it is time to say goodbye. But the passage of time is different for elves, so Frieren witnesses how her beloved companions slowly die.

Before his death, Heiter manages to impose a young human apprentice named Fern on Frieren. Driven by the elf's passion for collecting a large number of magical spells, the couple embarks on an apparently aimless journey, revisiting the places that the heroes of old visited. Throughout their travels, Frieren slowly confronts her regret over lost opportunities to form deeper bonds with her deceased comrades.
