Following the success of the manga, "The Food Diary of Miss Maid" (Maid-san wa Taberu Dake) is being adapted into an anime set to debut in 2026. This announcement, made by Happinet, has been met with great anticipation from the otaku community and fans of slice-of-life stories.
The series will follow Suzume Tachibana, an English maid who finds herself stranded in Japan for a year due to unexpected circumstances. During her stay, she explores the country's rich food culture, from sweets like taiyaki and melon bread to savory dishes like takoyaki and onigiri.
The Team Behind the Adaptation: Proven Talent
The anime's production is in the hands of a team of seasoned professionals. Ryosuke Senbo (Yo-kai Watch!) will direct the series alongside EMT Squared and Magic Bus.
The script will be overseen by Natsuko Takahashi (Anne Shirley, Love and Lies) and Saeka Fujimoto (Alice or Alice, The Highschool Life of a Fudanshi), promising a well-structured and emotional narrative. Chiaki Abe will handle character design, while Katsutoshi Kitagawa (ROUND TABLE), with his experience on works like Buddy Daddies and Chobits, will compose the music, ensuring a memorable soundtrack to complement the culinary and daily life scenes.
