The first season of the anime, consisting of 12 episodes, premiered in 2021. Crunchyroll describes a synopsis of the series as follows:

Makoto Misumi was just an average teenager who suddenly found himself summoned to another world as a "hero." But the goddess of this world called him ugly and stripped him of his hero status, then sent him to the fringes of the world. He encounters dragons, spiders, orcs, dwarves, and many other non-human races in the wastelands. Makoto manages to show promise in using magic and fighting, something he couldn’t have done in his previous world. He has numerous encounters, but will he be able to survive in this new world? A fantasy where a guy abandoned by both gods and humanity is about to restart his life in this new world is about to begin!
