Synopsis
The story of After School Lessons for Unripe Apples takes place in the life of Miae, a teenager living in South Korea in the 90s. Miae led a common school life until problems suddenly began to arise after she reconciled with an old friend, Cheol. Many people assume that Cheol is a child with a bad character. They tend to avoid him because of his height difference and his untold past in which he earned the nickname "Lucifer".
However, despite all these rumors, Miae feels curious about how he obtained his nickname, so she tries to reconnect with him. The process of becoming friends again becomes a drama full of complexity. It shows a reasonable description of what it takes to be friends with someone. It is not always an automatic click and people really have to try to get others to open up to them.

Despite facing obstacles in her life such as school bullying, strict parents, and studying at an intensive academy, she manages to retain her sweet and cheerful personality. She is a lover of sweets, despite their effect on her fair skin, which further accentuates her carefree spirit amidst the adversities she faced during these formative years.
Kim Cheol
Cheol is undoubtedly a rather intriguing character. Initially, he enters the story as a new student at Goguryeo High School, looking intimidating due to his poor upbringing. However, over time he undergoes a significant transformation, which causes him to be loved and accepted by his peers.
This change does not happen overnight, but gradually develops over several episodes, illustrating how individuals can evolve in supportive environments and positive influences from those around them.
Opinion about After School Lessons for Unripe Apples
Undoubtedly ASLFUA has a plot quite worthy of admiration. As a webtoon lover, the personalities of the characters are what most captivates the reader. On one hand, there is Miae who is a truly bold person. She is always seen smiling and energetic, never backing down from challenges. Unlike Cheol, she is not afraid of what people think about her, which makes her stubborn. Miae is a standout character, in contrast to Cheol, who often hides to gain a good reputation. Miae can be impulsive and Cheol overthinks too much.
While the story's synopsis focuses on friendship and romance, it also greatly touches upon character development. An example would be when Cheol gets used to worrying about Miae when he originally wasn’t willing to get involved with her at all. Nothing of the development is rushed, it has good art design and if you are a fan of complex storytelling, ASLFUA is a perfect combination of drama, life and romance.
