Synopsis
After suffering relentless bullying for most of his life, 17-year-old Yu has become emotionally numb and detached from reality, unable to act like a normal human being. Although he possesses an exceptional talent for dodging blows, Yu prefers to let his tormentors hit him because he finds no meaning in his survival.
Things start to improve when Yu meets an old boxing coach nicknamed "K". Having raised five champions, K's years of experience and impressive intuition allow him to immediately recognize Yu's almost superhuman fighting charisma. K hurries to take Yu under his protection, despite the latter's apparent lack of interest.
However, after remembering a bright memory from the past, Yu changes his mind and accepts K's offer, hoping to experience that light once more. Thus, Yu enters a world full of formidable opponents, both fair and monstrous, and for the first time, he has no choice but to defend himself.
Characters of The Boxer
Yu
Yu is the main character of the webtoon. He is currently a professional boxer under the tutelage of the legendary K. Yu may have a mental condition called tachypsychia, which is a neurological condition that distorts the perception of time, generally induced by physical exertion, drug use, or a traumatic event, which in Yu's case, was the massive bullying he received for so long.

K
K is a legendary boxing coach who has trained 5 world boxing champions. And currently trains Yu. K has a strict and challenging personality. He relies heavily on his instinct and intuition to guide his decisions.

Opinion about The Boxer
This webtoon mainly focuses on the boxing battles, showing 5 of the categories. During these, Yu, the main protagonist, goes through each one against different opponents. Yu was a social outcast, victim of severe bullying by other strong people at school and did not resist. Until one day, he hit the bullies while being watched by K, one of the best boxing coaches in the world, and then took him in to train him.
The art in this webtoon is simple and nothing outstanding like with others. But even though it's simple, it has many foreshadowing elements that portray the feeling and expression of the characters very well. Overall, The Boxer is a really good read and I recommend it to anyone who wants to read an unusual sports story with somewhat heavy themes.
